NCE Employee Rights Series: Anti-Discrimination Law Basics

NCE is committed to educating American employees about their legal rights in the workplace. To assist in this important mission NCE releases periodic materials relating to employment law in its "Employee Rights Series". This week NCE has released the legal guide to Anti-Discrimination Law. Employment Discrimination remains a prevalent and persistent problem in the American workplace. Federal and State laws protect workers from discrimination in a variety of settings and tens of thousands or discrimination cases are filed in the Nation's courts each years. The complex web of laws involved and fear of reprisal are reasons often given by employees for why they feel powerless to stop illegal behavior at their workplace.

NCE hopes by offering basic information related to the laws protecting employees and a description of the legal process that follows a complaint of discrimination we can empower our members to take the steps they are afforded under the law to remedy their situation.
